Helena and Eduardo are passionate about bringing people together by sharing the heart of Mexico through food and hospitality. From fresh tortillas to rich salsas and traditional flavours, they create genuine culinary experiences that bring a sense of home to Mexicans in Canada while inviting others to discover the vibrancy and depth of Mexican heritage. 

 

Though she was born in Monterrey, one of Mexico’s largest cities, Helena grew up in Manitoba. Until beginning post-secondary studies, she spent at least one month every year in Mexico, visiting family and escaping the cold. Helena has always loved the sense of comfort and connection that comes from great food shared with good company, and she loves to bring the authentic flavours of Mexico to spice things up in the heart of the Canadian prairies.

 

Eduardo was born and raised in Mexico City, also known as “the best place on Earth” in his words. Vibrant and bustling with dazzling sights and sounds, Mexico City is rich, efficient, and full of culture and personality, just like Eduardo!

 

The couple married in 2006 and settled in Winnipeg, MB where they built family, careers and community  upon their core values of tradition, integrity and authenticity; values which they've carried over into their business, Los Comales Morales, founded in 2023.
